Captivating The Cowboy - Release & Reviews

She's the last thing he needs...but everything he wants.

No matter how often fourth-generation cattle rancher Slade Weston tips his hat on NotMyFirstRodeo.com, he’s found no woman worthy of a second date, let alone the life-long love he seeks. After his last date seemed more interested in his bank account than him, Slade decides to throw in the towel and face the coming summer alone.

Fashion designer Jules O'Connor is counting the days until she leaves the three-stoplight town of Opal Creek. Her life will finally start in New York, where she can focus on building her career instead of layer cakes. There’s just one last thing she wants to know before she makes her escape: why has sexy rancher Slade Weston brought in a different date every Friday for months?

When Slade's string of first dates gets comical, Jules offers to be his wing-woman, which inevitably leads to horizontal schmexytimes. She doesn't want to be a wife and mom; he doesn't want to move to New York City. With no strings to get tangled in, it should be easy for Jules to escape and follow her dreams. But they’re indulging an attraction that grows deeper every day, and they’ve both started to dream of a different future.

Warning: Will whet your appetite for Better than Sex cake, fabulous dresses, and a family full of hot cowboys.

Anything For A Cowboy - Release & Reviews

Anything For A Cowboy is now available as an individual release! I love that readers have the option to grab the Not My 1st Rodeo anthology or choose just the book that interests them.

Her plan was for them to fall in bed, not in love.

When veterinarian Jacy Weston changes her location on her western dating website profile, she thinks it’s no big deal. Opal Creek…Myrtle Creek…what’s the difference? As little white lies go, this one barely qualifies. Besides, since her brothers have chased off every guy within a hundred miles, the expiration date on her virginity is way past due.

Ray Mitchell is not inclined to waste his time on something as unnecessary as dating, but it’s much easier to take a woman to coffee than to explain to his mother why he’s in no hurry to get married again. Despite NotMy1stRodeo.com’s promises, he doubts he’ll find any woman willing to find herself stuck on a remote ranch raising rodeo stock.

But Jacy is different. She isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. Or to get down and dirty. Ray’s thinking he’s found the one, until the truth comes out…and he realizes the divorcee from the next county he’s been dating doesn’t exist.

Warning: Contains a virginal heroine looking for the nearest exit for the horizontal highway to heaven, and a cowboy willing to go the distance for the right woman.

CARIBBEAN COWBOY

What's a little fantasy between strangers...

Bedded by the Bad Boy

When Dr. Janny Baird winds up on an Aleutian island, this good-girl is so far from home she's willing to indulge in a little fantasy - like hopping on the back of a stranger's motorcycle for one wild, erotic ride.

Taken by the Tycoon

Last night's stranger is barely recognizable in a suit, which leads to another fantasy night together where the very restrained doctor gives him total control.

Claimed by the Cowboy
Back home on the Caribbean island of Anguilla, Janny is stunned to find her fantasy has taken over her reality. Nik Hansen is literally a cowboy, staking a claim on the island, and on her

Caribbean Casanova Teaser

Harm Prinsen is quite the tease, so it's only fitting to show off a bit of that in this excerpt.

Holly stepped out on the lanai and held up her cell phone. She breathed a sigh of relief as the bars lit up on the display. Her interlude with Harm on the beach had put her behind schedule and she couldn’t afford to be without her phone. She dialed up her voicemail and turned to look at the house.

Most of the lights were off, allowing the stars to reflect off the glass facade. But the upper corner glowed like a beacon. The sight drew her eye and her breath. Unaware of his audience stood Harm, enjoying a shower for the world to see.

Not that there would be many looking. With the rocky outcroppings along his shoreline, no boats would get close enough, and his villa was higher than the house beside his or the collection of bungalows he owned. Right now she was the only one enjoying the view.

What she wouldn’t give for a pair of binoculars so she could study his muscled physique. Water sluiced down his honed body, the shower heads attached to an interior wall. The muscles of his ass flexed as he moved, his back rippling as he pushed water from his hair.

“Come on, turn around.” Holly blinked at the sound of her own voice, unaware she’d spoken. She slipped her phone into her pocket, then looked up to find Harm had done as she wished.

“Oh my.” She pressed her hand to the base of her throat and stared.

New Review - Cooking Up A Seduction

I don't know if I'm excited or relieved that so many people are loving Cooking Up A Seduction. As Anna says "I'm somewhere in that zone..." Sorry, PrincessGirl has us all listening to the Frozen soundtrack at every waking moment.

Slick at Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews was nice enough to write up a review, with great soundbites like ::

This book is a crazy mixed up love story that’s a whole lot of fun! ~ Slick, Guilty Pleasures

and

Cooking Up A Seduction had moments of hilarity, lots of sexy fun, and some really great characters making it a very enjoyable story.

but my favorite has to be

When I think of author Jenna Bayley-Burke I think of memorable couples.

That's always my goal. Every time. If Slick were here, I'd squeeze her. But that chick is partying it up at Wild Wicked Weekend in San Antonio...where she started her trip with a Dierks Bentley sighting. Not that I am jealous, AT ALL.

Library Journal Liked Caribbean Casanova

CaribbeanCasanova030113 Xpress Reviews: E Originals | First Look at New Books, March 1, 2013 Library Journal liked Caribbean Casanova :) Made my whole day :: "A good read for the beach this summer."

Bayley-Burke, Jenna.

ISBN 9781619215771.

CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE

In her latest “Under the Caribbean Sun” adventure (after Caribbean Christmas), Burke has brought the Prinsen brothers (Johannes and Harmannus) back to the island of Anguilla, along with Saskia and her business partner Holly Hansen...

Verdict Where else would one want to be on a cold winter’s day but dreaming of the warm Caribbean sun on the island of Anguilla? While this story is short, the author has done a good job of developing these characters and creating an all-around good tale, with lots of spicy sensuality and graphic language. A good read for the beach this summer.

Thank you so much to Phyllis Goodman, Clermont Cty. P.L., OH for the great review!!

Review Round-up

My publisher has a review database that collects reviews they are alerted to. I didn't know the database existed until today, so I thought it would be fun to check it to see if I'd missed any. It turns out Google Alerts does a pretty good job, but a few slipped under the radar. Including this gem from Library Journal.

This fast-paced story touches on the fears and sexiness of an illicit romance. Bayley-Burke (Compromising Positions; Her Cinderella Complex) gives both Breeze and Logan realistic concerns in their relationship, while providing each with a robust background. Like a piece of sweet chocolate, For Kicks is a quick bite of delicious fun.  For Kicks, Library Journal

Drive Me Crazy RT Review

Managed to scavenge a copy of Romantic Times for the review of Drive Me Crazy -- 4 stars and a HOT! They are so good to me.
Bayley-Burke's newest is a crazy and sexy ride from Washington DC to Oregon. Readers will eagerly turn the pages as they wait to see what happens next. From haunted B&Bs and whore-houses to a petting zoo, her main characters are on the road - and the romance - of a lifetime.

Drive Me Crazy Review - Ten Stars!

How do you get a ten star review? Well, you don't really. Guilty Pleasures had two reviewers that wanted to read Drive Me Crazy, and since you do not mess with a romance reader's to-be-read list, they both got it. As an author, that's kind of scary. Review sites have a loyal reader-base that will buy a book based on those reccomendations. What if one likes it and the other not so much?

I don't have to find out, because Slick & Kitty both enjoyed it. Big relief. But they also took the time to put together such well-written reviews, I wanted to share a bit of each of them.

Kitty Angel :: "From the haunted hotel to the haunted brothel and all the stops between Washington, DC and Oregon, I laughed and smiled. She made this book fun, romantic, and erotic. This was a wonderful book that will have you wanting to go on a road-trip soon.....and not with the girls!"
Slick Reads :: "You seriously must read this book! It is that damn good."
"Cross a meandering playboy with a studious control freak driving cross country and you have a plot that is fresh, fun, and blatantly sexy!"

Thank you so much, ladies. I'm glad Jaime & Xavier touched your hearts.

More For Kicks reviews!

"Entertaining story filled with corporate intrigue, sensual temptations, and a slow seduction that will make your heart flutter." Sensual Reads

"[Logan] pursued Breeze like "a Black Friday shopper" and it definitely added to the humor of this story, as didBreeze's attempts to always turn the tables on Logan. Although it had a slow build up in the beginning with was well worth it and I will definitely be recommending For Kicks to all of my friends." -- Guilty Pleasures, 4 stars

FOR KICKS Reviews

It's so exciting when reviews start to come in for a story. I write to entertain, so I live for the idea that I managed to perk up someone's afternoon :)

Romance Book Craze served me up four martinis! What is really funny, is that I am working on a book where the heroine is drinking a blue martini.

"I loved this story. It was funny, witty, sweet, and sexy.  I could not put this book down. Oh and did I mention the love scenes? Oh my...way to melt the panties." - Romance Book Craze

"This was very entertaining read with an uber hot ex-athlete with an inventive use of chocolate. This is a great book to spend a cold afternoon absorbed in." - Night Owl Reviews

Private Scandal Review

Such a well-written review from Joyfully Reviewed. I wonder where Vanessa was when I was struggling to write the query letter for this book ;) She did a great job summing up the book.

  • Private Scandal is an engrossing tale which involves you from the beginning until the end.
  • Private Scandal was an engaging read that had this reader wondering if there would be sequels to tie up those things left open in the end.

And yes...sequels are planned :) Thanks for asking.

Romantic Times Review!!!

4 1/2 stars

Seriously!

Can you feel how excited I am about finding a review from Romantic Times magazine for Private Scandal? Thrilled! And to make it even better? It has an awesome quote ::

"As juicy as a soap opera and more fun than a day at the beach."
