Thursday 13 :: Stacy Gail

I'm back with another edition of Thursday 13 with lightning interviews of my authorly peeps. Enjoy yourself :)

  1. Latest release? SAVAGE ANGEL is book 2 in The Earth Angels paranormal series, published by Carina Press!  The Earth Angels are descendants of the Nephilim, an ancient race of human-angel hybrids.  In SAVAGE ANGEL, Sara Savitch is hired to be the bodyguard of the father of a man she had a one-night stand with—a man she hasn’t been able to forget.  And while she might be the perfect bodyguard thanks to her angelic DNA, she’s not sure the hero, Gideon, will accept who and what she is.

  2. In the hottest scene...kisses or condoms? Condoms, definitely. :D

  3. What are you working on? I’ve just wrapped up DANGEROUS ANGEL, the final book in The Earth Angels series.  This was my first “ensemble” book, so I’m really excited about it!

  4. What have you Googled for research? Ugh.  Everything from how tall MacArthur Causeway is (about six stories) to obscure martial arts (escrima is a close-quarters style of fighting from the Philippines, using handheld blades/sticks), to where/how big Fort Bragg is.  I’m expecting Homeland Security to be knocking on my door any day now.

  5. What do you drink when writing? Water.  I know, boring, but I suspect Hemingway was the only one who could get away with his famous quote of “write drunk, edit sober.”

  6. Do you have a writing uniform? Ha!  Nope, especially since I write both in private and in public.  Whatever I’m wearing is good. :D

  7. Where do you write? I’m extremely busy with my day job (figure skating pro) so I have to grab writing time when I can.  If I’m not writing in my office at home, I’m scribbling away at the local bookstore near my arena in between shifts on the ice.
  8. What was the last thing you read? Chloe Jacobs, a writing friend of mine, just published her first YA, Greta and The Goblin King.  I love it so much it was worth a reread!

  9. Paper, audio, or ebook? For now, ebook and audio.  Who knows what the future holds
  10. Favorite book in the last few months? On the Edge, by Ilona Andrews.  They mention Inuyasha, a manga/anime story, which I love. :D
  11. Favorite social network? Twitter – follow me for all the latest!
  12. Secret super power? I can make babies laugh until they spit up just by looking at them. FEAR ME.
  13. Guilty pleasure? Car-dancing.  I know I shouldn’t, but I’m really good at it!
Thank you so much for allowing me to come to your cyber home to talk a bit about SAVAGE ANGEL.  It’s been fun! :D

AUTHOR Bio and Links:  A competitive figure skater from the age of eight, Stacy Gail began writing stories in between events to pass the time. By the age of fourteen, she told her parents she was either going to be a figure skating coach who was also a published romance writer, or a romance writer who was also a skating pro. Now with a day job of playing on the ice with her students, and writing everything from steampunk to cyberpunk, contemporary to paranormal at night, both dreams have come true.

Meal Plan Mondays

Well, I did it...I joined a weight-loss competition. Why would I sign up to be the biggest loser? Well, because the weigh-ins are private and the winner gets a cruise. I have 6 weeks to lose more weight than anyone else at my gym. Any tips?

Monday : Alice Springs chicken & broccoli
Tuesday :  spaghetti & meatballs (for the kids...I'll have grain-free leftovers)
Wednesday : spicy salmon & cauliflower
Thursday : tilapia & green beans
Friday : lemon chicken & broccoli
Saturday : spinach salad

For Kicks at Barnes & Noble

Great news, everyone! My latest paperback, For Kicks, is easy to find at Barnes & Noble. Head straight for the New Romance shelf (or table, depending on store layout) and voila! I'm right there...well my book is. But my books go many more exciting places than I do.

I even decided to visit my books at a few local bookstores. At the Tanasbourne B&N I shared the shelf with Maya Banks & Lacey Alexander.

Christina Ashcroft kept me company at the Bridgeport Village B&N.

I signed the one's I found...and slipped a little something inside for a laugh.

Have you picked up your copy of For Kicks yet?

Best Book of the Year?

Last week I found out that Drive Me Crazy has been nominated for Best Book of 2012 at Long and Short Reviews. It tickled me to learn not just that someone enjoyed it, but that the story touched them enough to be nominated. So cool.

If you have a moment, check out the poll and cast your vote.

Menu Plan Monday

I'm keeping it clean and simple this week. Partly because I am pressed for time, but mostly because the boys complained so much about dinners last week. They were delicious, but they didn't like picking the peppers out of the chicken enchiladas and thought the chicken sate should have been grilled chicken.

Okay then, a week of bland and boring on order.

Monday : baked chicken & broccoli
Tuesday :  salmon & cauliflower
Wednesday : raviolis (Crockpot)
Thursday : tilapia & green beans
Friday : homemade pizza
Saturday : Alice Springs chicken & broccoli
